Description
The Wurtherington Diary: The Little Doll Girl. Art by Duy Truong.
I called my officers before me while dark clouds blocked out the Sun. We stood on the plain in near darkness while scattered rays of light shone threw and danced along the horizon. It reminded me of the light that often shone through the worn roof in my shed in Ohio. I addressed my officers. If ever there was a time to pray, this is it." Everyone removed their helmets and bowed their heads.
"Dear God,
We believe that we go into battle today because we believe that you are with us. We feel we do what we must for ourselves and for our children. If we do not do this we will surely perish and we do it unwillingly. We are a simple people and you can see that all of Kira is united in this effort today. It is together that will will face the monster at our door. All we ask is that you give us the strength to overcome the evil that has been cast upon us. We pray for victory and let this day be the day that Kira regained its freedom. "Amen.
"Amen," echoed from my men. A single ray of light had wound its way across the meadow and then remained frozen upon me. A heavenly stillness filled the air. Every man in the field knelt down and gazed at the sight me basking in the light amidst the darknessand then the light disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. Many said that it was a sign.
