Description
Art by Duy Truong.....................Book 8 "Robin Hood and the Magna Carta..............Robin has marched his army into London and found the scaffold where King John had his citizens hanged each morning.
May 17, 1215
Dear Diary,
This was an amazing day for The Army of God and the Holy Church. We marched into London with great fanfare. Virtually everyone lined the streets and greeted us as the victors of hope and change. As we anticipated, not a single sword was raised against us. We marched through the grand city as victors and then camped the army on the edge of town. Robin and his Baron generals stood upon the gallows and addressed the throng of humanity. Robin said, "A good day to ye! We thank ye for gi'ing us the greatest prize I could hath e'er imagined! Our army will make London our headquarters and I can tell ye that I smell victory in the air. I hath learned today that the sword 'tis naught the way to bring King John to the peace table. 'Tis the hearts and minds of men that win wars....
He held up the Articles of the Barons. "I hold in my hand the Articles that gi'e the Barons more control o'er our lands. These liberties will apply to e'ery man. No longer will soldiers come into our homes and carry away our lo'ed ones. Beside me stands Tammy Wurtherington. She is an amazing lassie who hath brought us to this place in our history. If naught for the fair lass, I would still be banished from England as would others who stand before ye. Tammy, would thee quoth a word?"
I said, "Our work is not yet done. Until King John affixes his seal to the Articles of the Barons, we will not rest. These are liberties that come from God and are the right of every man, woman, and child!"

The light and perspective are magnificent here. Wondrous visions such as this take me to happier times in childhood. F/L
