Description
Art by Duy Truong...........................
We pulled up to the sheriff's office just as an angry lynch mob came rushing down the street with Wolf Pack in front. Cody told the sheriff that he had to let Standing Buffalo go; however the sheriff figured he could hold them off. He stood on the boardwalk trying to settle the mob. Cody, Jessie, Clint, Wako, and Cody stood along side him with guns drawn. I stayed inside with White Feather, Zeke and the others. We figured that an Indian standing with the sheriff at that moment was not a smart tactic.
I could see Wolf Pack through the window. He was a coarse buffalo hunter with a shaggy beard. He said, "We are coming in there to get that Indian, Sheriff. We'll take you out if you stand in our way."
The sheriff did his best talking to them and soon slipped through the door while the pony riders held off the mob. He brought out his keys and unlocked the jail cell. "We are leaving by the back door. Move it!"
Alfred wondered, "Are you setting him free?"
"Yes," said Sheriff Evans. "We all know that he didn't do it. A trial was only a formality. I would never forgive myself if the mob got a hold of him."
We ran out the back and Waco came riding up with fresh horses. I told them to run out to Campbell's ranch and I would bring others to help round up the scalawags.

I admire your watercolour and storytelling skills. Reynold your creativity is totally amazing, I love looking at all your stories, at first I thought this piece was done in felt markers. I always make a mess when I try watercolour.

Wonderful fun image. Lovely work. Very interesting with the little flying creatures
Reynold Jay replied:
Hi Marcia, Thank you. Those flying critters are Zeke the orphaned opossum and Cedric the mischievous mongoose. Tammy adopted them in book one and they are always a big part of the stories.
Elaine Mikkelstrup
The blonde cowgirl in the background provides interest here, I also like the unusual flying creatures l/f
Reynold Jay replied:
Thank you, Elaine. That blond is Tammy ( our little sweetheart) and she is busy is holding off the lynch mob.
