Description
Art by Duy Truong........It was time to roll out the barricades. Stauffacher gave a signal with a red flag. More flags waved up and down the line and barricades were rolled out at each end. The trap was set. We had our best Schwyz voulge warriors posted at each end ready to defend all attempts to overrun the barricades. Yberg did not hesitate. He waved a yellow flag and logs began spilling down the embankment. The horses reared up and the Austrians tumbled to the ground while rocks crushed them. William Tell waved a green flag and waves of arrows flew high into the air and rained down upon the helpless soldiers. He had his best archers at his side and he led them in targeting the officers with deadly precision.Cedric and Zeke raced Polly down the line with dozens of hawk riders trailing behind. They bumped heads with the rock and chain that has been so successful with the scarecrows. Soldiers tumbled from their horses like rows of dominoes.
This went on for nearly two hours and I raised a blue flag. Confederates shouted down the embankment to the defeated enemy, "Throw down your weapons and ye lives will be spared!" There was little hesitation. Weapons dropped to the ground with a clatter.
