Description

Dear Diary,
I soon discovered that it is the nature of war for plans to disappear with the wind. One must take into account that the enemy is going to thwart your every move.
Our bee landed at the gate to the city. Moments before, Alfred suggested that we drop off Cedric and Zeke before we reached the entrance. I could see no harm in it and instructed them to keep an eye on us as best they could. The pair fluttered to the grasses and hid.
A Captain greeted us. Welcome to Capira. We were told that you might visit our city.
I noticed the name-tag on his uniform, Captain Johnson. Thank you, Captain Johnson. We will allow you to lead the way. This is our first trip to your city. I hope you don't mind.
A squadron of guards surrounded us and we marched through the streets with little fanfare. We strolled up and down a cobblestone road that wound endlessly every which way and that. It was lined with quaint shops bustling with shoppers. Alfred said, Remind me to stop back and do some shopping. I see things that might make a nice present for Betty.
We reached a golden palace that towered to the sky. We wound up a labyrinth of corridors and hallways lined with oil paintings, ancient pottery, and sparkling chandeliers. We took a circular staircase that climbed upward to the peaks of the palace. We came upon a large arched door with carvings of animals and serpents. I anticipated that Catherine and Lucinda probably surrounded themselves with throngs of persons dressed in lavish silks and feathers. The guards swung open the door and I could see only a pair of figures hidden in the shadows. A circular set of steps led to a throne in the center of it and I could see an open window that led to a balcony that overlooked the city.

What a visual treat for the eyes and imagination, Reynold! And the 3-d quality with the separation of foreground and background is amazing! L/F

This too is like Disneyland! My littlest granddaughter was so excited! She met "Ariel" and was thrilled...then she is only 5 and Disneyland is so very very real to her! This chapter must be like Disneyland! Ohhhh what a joy it must be to be redoing these books! VLTw
Britta Glodde
This one caught my eye because of the girl. Her attitude and clothing is so much alike Alice in Wonderland. L&F
Reynold Jay replied:
Hi Britta--That is my sweet Tammy, the heroine of our series. Thank you once again.
Anita Faye
Imaginative and reflective work Reynold! She reminds me of Alice in Wonderland who was my favorite characters as a child. But, this one is more whimsical! Love her!
Reynold Jay replied:
Hi Anita-- advance readers are responding that our tale does remind them of Alice in Wonderland. Let's hope the world embraces our stories.

Alice in Wondeland I assume.
Reynold Jay replied:
Thank you, Carl-- close, this is Tammy Wurtherington, the star of my children's novels coming out in the fall. Alfred is the King of Kira...it's a long story.

Reynold Jay replied:
Thank you, Heloisa. This is one of a handful that I came up with--the initial sketch and then Duy and others take over.
