Description
Art by Duy Truong.
A gentle breeze blew from the west. It would not last long as angry clouds were billowing over the mountain peaks.
William Tell took careful aim....
He tested the air once again and then focused upon the apple.
He released the latch and the arrow sailed across the square and split the apple in half.
Walter picked up the two halves and ran into the arms of his father. The villagers embraced one another and cheered as their prayers had been answered.

Hi Reynold~~Beautiful surroundings, uncertainty, drama, hope, interaction, wonder, prayers, peaceful, stressful, trust, sunshine, clouding up- just another day of reality! Sure like this painting! F&L!!

Sometimes, when I want to stop thinking about a motif for a Special theme I go to your sites it is like resting in a fairy-tale - like a dream of childhood and so wonderful works!! LF

Fun to look all around this art piece and enjoy the little details. Facial expressions, tufts of grass, body postures. Love the colors and shadows.

Hi Hank, As well s the story is known, there is very little written about it. Thank you.

Wonderful illustration by Duy Truong!!! Fabulous characters and interpretation of your marvelous rendition of the story, Reynold!
Reynold Jay replied:
Hi Hanne, I did look up Orca Pub too as they do your books. Canada only! Oh well. I would bet I have researched you as much as I do for my books. William Tell goes far beyond the day with the apple. I never would have guessed that it was a true story when I began--much more than folklore. Duy is my sweetie, too. I imagine I am her biggest fan.
