Art by Duy Truong,...............Deke and the others riders were there as we waited for the incoming rider. Wako and Bib found a thoroughbred named Cheyenne that they felt might keep up with Powder Face. "Hold on tight, Zeke. It is going to the ride of your life," they warned. I saddled up on Little Pint, a mustang that White Feather assured me would keep up.
Jessie Hollister raced into the yard and passed the mochila to Cody and we were off on our first Pony Express ride. The three of us were like the wind and quickly left the St. Francis station far behind.
