Description
The Wurtherington Diary: The California Gold Rush art by Duy Truong.
Each time they rolled around on the floor I took the mop and nudged the scuffling pair toward the door. After two minutes or so of this they pushed through the entrance and spilled out into the dusty street. The crowd followed the entire affair outside offering suggestions as to who should hit who. Some started placing bets. Odds were two-to-one in favor of Goldie.
Goldie tossed Mrs. Endicott into the water trough and that brought it to an end. Well, almost so. Goldie slipped and fell in horse dung and ended up with it all over her clothes and face. Mrs. Endicott ran down the street carrying what was left of her dignity and Goldie pushed back into the Sourdough Saloon.

Reynold, glad your day was made by the earlier comment. So here's one for tomorrow: This sketch has more life than the sepia redo posted next to it (might be the more 'splashable' water rendering); I'd like to see other original drawings for the series--perhaps side-by-side with their later watercolor versions--that would be instructive for all of us who've never written a series or produced a story board...
Reynold Jay replied:
I could not wait for tomorrow. Sometime when a new work is posted I'll post the art as you suggest, for only the first day. Then I move the art to their final home in the various galleries. Thank you for noticing.
