Description
"Sunshine" oil on canvas by John George Brown1831-1913. This was first exhibited in 1879 as "A Sunny Day" at the National Academy of Design. His work appears to be influenced by Winslow Homer. The two artists worked in the same studio in New York and were good friends. In this work Brown captured the bright but hazy atmosphere of the seashore.
