Description
The Wurtherington Diary: The Little Doll Girl. Art by Nour Hassan and Duy Truong.
He started to stand up again; he wanted to check out the sewing basket. Sit!
I showed him the basket and brought out the sewing machine. I knew he would be begging for an outfit like Alfred and Zeke in another minute so I brought out the tape and measured him.
"What? Are you going to make me look like them?"
"Yesbut only if you promise to protect us from the snakes. You must sit still too. I cannot do it if you are scampering all about." It was not an easy task making the soldier's outfit for him. He marveled at the stitching.
From time to time I told him to go kill a snake or two. He would run off, kill a few snakes that were close to the road then run back with one in his mouth.
"Akk! Get that thing out of here!" Alfred and Zeke winced whenever he did this. I instructed him to kill the snakes and then leave them. We did not want to see them at all. He understood and became our protector. Apparently the snakes were all about us. He was quite amazing. He could kill a dozen snakes faster than than the eye could see.
