Francis Brundage was born Frances Isabelle Lockwood on June 28, 1854 in Newark, New Jersey. Her father did wood engravings, painted church murals, and portraits. She learned art from her father and sold her first professional work to Louisa Amy Alcott, an author. She is noted for her depiction of children and became one of the notable artists of her time. She did many books covers and these were often sold as postcards.

Reynold, you must have put countless hours of research and restoration effort into saving this and other examples of work by wonderful artists from the past. But for you they might have been lost forever. Yet another charming picture added to your gallery. Lovely! Fav'/voted.
