Description
The Wurtherington Diary: Tammy and the Declaration of Independence Art by Duy Truong
When I found my desk in the classroom I could see the American flag was exactly where it belonged. I said," Mrs. Prescott, I'd like to lead the class in the pledge today."
She smiled. "Of course, Tammy. Come up front and lead us today."
I stood proud and tall and recited the words with the class. "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
I remembered that first flag with so few stars and said a silent prayer. Thank you, God for my brave founding fathers and for all that they have done for me. I will forever remember each and every one of them. Amen.
