The Wurtherington Diary: The California Gold Rush art by Duy Truong.
February 18, 1848. Nearly 50 products are available with this image.
Dear Diary,
We rode the stage back to Coloma that afternoon. Posters of Rattlesnake Cedric, Mad Dog Zeke, and me were posted up and down the road with warnings not to fire a gun in the town. The voting was closed and Judge Slade was busy counting the ballets on the boardwalk.
A banjo player sat on a barrel and sang a song to a tiny gathering of children.
"Mad Dog and Rattlesnake were the meanest deputies of the West.
They carried no guns because they were quicker than the rest.
They carried skillets and they would whack you on the head.
Bandits learned to run from them; otherwise they were dead!"
Mad Doggggggg! Rattlesnaaaaaaake!
They were quicker than all the the others
They were the best of the best.
Mad Doggggggg! Rattlesnaaaaaaake!
They were the livin' legends of the West!"

Left to right, line up is funny. Ride into town, get cleaned up, hit the bank so you can buy a drink, then sleep it off, then get some food and supplies... Wonderful colors and use of shadows. Love this.
Reynold Jay replied:
You are quite observant and a story teller as well Carlin!!!Thank you!
