Artist's Description
Art by Duy Truong............................Buffalo Bill Cody trotted out on Powder Face and waved to the cheering crowd. We watched many different acts that included reenactments of scenes from Buffalo Bill, the King of the Border Men. Ned Buntline announced many of the acts and acted as the master of ceremonies. The audience loved him. An actor playing Wild Bill Hickok came outand demonstrated his shooting abilities. He told the audience that guns were dangerous and should not be in the hands of children. Cody was clearly the star of the show when he talked about the loss of the true West while a stringed orchestra played behind him He said, "The Indians are the first Americans and we must do all we can for them."
