Reynold Jay says, "My bedroom scenes are important to me and my readers. At the end of each day it is important that we feels warm and cozy. It is a time for reflection of the day's events shared with one's best friends."
The Wurtherington Diary: The Little Doll Girl. Art by Duy Truong
September 4, 1883
Dear Diary,
Alfred and Betty dropped by and wanted to spend the night too. Of course they were needed back in Kira the next day. Someone needed to rule the kingdom.
I have decided that there is no point in showing anyone my diary as no one would ever believe any of it. I've been told that a diary is personal, so I guess I'll keep it that way. I do have that map pinned to the wall given to me by Captain Flynn and signed by Alfred the Great and Captain Adams. I know that Aunt May thinks it is no more than one of my sketches and that is fine with me. I do look at it each night before I go to bed. I am always happy to see that Tammy the Merciful slayed that nasty ole korgoyle. There is only one thing my friends do believe, and that is that I have the cutest mongoose and opossum one could ever imagine.
How they ever came to be here will be our little secret.

What a lovely scene and such a great story! This image reminds me of when I was a child and my older sister used to make up imaginative tales to help my brothers and I go to sleep. Brings back such wonderful memories for me. L/F!

What a sweet little scene. I don't know how I overlooked this before. Precious and very heartwarming to see this little girl and her critter friends warm by the fire. Very nicely done Reynold.
