Description
The Wurtherington Diary: The Little Doll Girl. Art by Duy Truong.
September 2, 1883
Dear Diary,
I began to have doubts about all of this. Many were going to die and the burden of it all collapsed upon me that evening. I offered a prayer to God at the side of my bed. "...This is too much for a little girl from Ohio to bear. I ask for strength from you to help me get through tomorrow. I really do believe I have done the right thing and I can only hope that I will feel this way after the battle. Amen."
I wanted to look like a commander and Zandy and I designed a soldier's outfit with broad shoulders and a ruffled blouse. It looked much like the others; however I saw that it fit perfectly and gave me a confident air of authority. Zandy made up a sketch of me with my hair blowing in the breeze that was quite remarkable. She could see that I admired it and gave it to me.

I can just feel her hair blowing in the wind, and love how the orange just bounces off of the complimentary, puffy-clouded sky. So wonderful, Reynold~ like/f
